Layout:
DThe Z-Cyber Speedway
is fit out, with two IDE Channel's; they are irrespective of each other,
at the Channels you may connect up to four devices. The card can put in
irrespective of the existing IDE Channel on the Motherboard, since the
controller decree has an own Bios. From the Flash-Bios you may set all
the settings from the controller. Trough the Flash-Bios you may also update
the firmware.
The card support RAID0
and RAID1. In contrast of the most onboard-RAID-controls the Z-Cyber Speedway
133 supports moreover the RAID 0/1. I have explained the different RAID
Levels in the follow list.
A Connection for the
HDD-Leds is available separate for every Channel they are 2-pin Jumpers.
Driver & Software:
A driver floppy is
in the supply it support for Windows9x/ME/NT 4/2000 and Xp. So all the
all actual operating systems from Microsoft are replace. The drive on
the floppy is the version 1.0 at www.z-cyber.net
you may find the Version1.0.1.2 (108kb). Moreover on the site you also
my find a programme (1.29MB) where you can set the controller settings.
Also you can find a BIOS-Utility-Kit (4,40 kb) with this Utility you can
fix some errors by HDDs over 137GB. Wrongly the size of this programm
give with 44,40MB. The date is by all driver versions the 24.04.2002.

RAID-Levels:
RAID0: By the RAID-Level
0 it doesn't act of an econ store method, as the name also said. By the
level 0 the Data get constant distribute of the indefinite drives. They
called "Strips". The parallel writing respectively reading distinct
raise the Speed especially by big DATAs you notice it. For this purpose
two HDD will switch together. However when a HDD fall out the DATA will
lost, just because the DATAs distribute of the indefinite drives.
RAID1: By the RAID-Level
1 the DATA will write 1 : 1 on the two HDD. The econ is very well ensure.
However you need two HDD who show the same size for this purpose. Otherwise
the HDD with the bigger size will reduce of the same size from the smaller
HDD. Moreover you can only use by for example 2x 40GB, 40GB this serve
for the safety. RAID 1 work from 2 HDD
RAID0/1: Raid0/1 is
a combination of the above mention method. However you need 4 HDD for
the work with Raid0/1. You need the first 2 one for the fast reading and
writing, so the DATA can write parallel (Raid 0). Simultaneous the pronoun
of the first HDD stand safe HDD decree. But the thing is also not 100%,
but of every fall more safety than RAID0. However when the first an the
safe HDD fall out the DATA will also lost.
